What To Expect When You Visit Amazing Grace

I often ask people who come to Amazing Grace for the first time,“What do you think about us?”  There have been a wide variety of responses.  The most common ones are: “the people are very friendly here”, or “it feels so relaxed here”, or  “I felt like this was home and you are family”.

I hope and pray that that is your experience as well.  When you come, feel free to ask any questions you like.  We know that each church family has its own culture and experience.  Your past church experience may have been very different, so please ask us about anything you do not understand.

  • Upon Arrival

When you walk in the door, there will be coffee, lemonade or hot water for tea in the lobby.  Help yourself!  Several people will welcome you, ask them anything, they will try to help. As you enter the worship area, there are information folders to your right on a stand.  It contains announcements, service order and other basic information about us.  Sit anywhere you like.

  • Church Service

We will begin with 2-3 songs (all song lyrics will be on a projector screen at both sides of the altar area).  You are our guest!  We do not expect you to participate in anything in which you are uncomfortable or unsure of.  The service will last about one hour and fifteen minutes.  In the service we believe that we are in the presence of God and begin our service by clearing away anything that may stand between us.  This is called confession and forgiveness. Listening to God is a main purpose for gathering.  So this next segment of the service will be focused on reading the Bible, a youth and adult message.  The message will be Biblically focused and applicable to our life and culture today.

The night before he was crucified, Jesus gave his disciples a meal we call, “The Lord’s Supper”.  He wanted to comfort them and assure them that He would be with them always.  Today it serves to bond us as His community and also assure us of his presence.  Again, you are our guest. If you have never taken “The Lord’s Supper”, are unsure or are not yet a Christian, just observe and ask any questions you like afterward

We will conclude with prayers and a blessing, along with brief announcements and a celebration song.

  • After Service
